We're celebrating International Women's Day by supporting the work of Rebecca Hawkins who advocates for change through her art.
Her work explores what freedom means to us and celebrates the courage of women across the world, who are often voiceless and unseen, living in situations where they are culturally or socially stigmatised. Rebecca is especially interested in the notion of what it means to feel empowered for women who are born into more challenging environments, and of the concept of Physis: "the determination to grow and survive".
Rebecca's work is highly sought-after and exhibited internationally. Her "Mother & Child" sculpture can currently be seen in St James' Square, London.
Rebecca will have a collection of sculptures from her work over the last 7 years, and most notably, her latest collection, Journeys with water, inspired by the impactful work of Frank Water. Frank Water is a British charity that provides vital access to safe water for communities in rural India and Nepal.
Come & see her incredible collection of sculptures and hear this inspirational artist talk about her work, alongside various charities, that highlights humanitarian issues which celebrate the strength of the human spirit, and the importance of freedom to thrive.
