Painted en plein air along the South Downs Way at the top of Bignor Hill capturing the hay harvest mid-summer as the sun shone on the hottest days of the summer. Capturing light as it highlighted the bailing lines of the tractors working hard to make the most of the good weather. Striking shapes and colours fill this gestural large painting full of dynamic mark making and energy, a painting that packs a punch and colour combinations to get lost in, as the sky sings of summer and the rolling hills of the South Downs captivated me.
