The Studio Summer Series

Eight artists, one week each, in the first summer at Bridge Street.

We opened at 20 Bridge Street in June and, in celebration of our new digs in Hungerford, we curated a series of truly delectable art to lighten, brighten and bring artful joy to your walls. One artist each week, all summer long.

Ceramics, charcoal, silkscreen, gouache, oil and hand-sewn embroidery. Some artists we have worked with for years, and two who are entirely new to the gallery.

Linzi West

A selection of coveted ceramics. These hand-thrown plates and platters are adorned with Linzi's magical artistry, inspired by a recent trip to Morocco. We love to hang these works on the wall as part of our art collections, but they look equally delightful gracing coffee tables or surfaces, propped on shelves. Never hidden in a cupboard.

Kulbir Bhandal

We were delighted to introduce a new artist to the gallery this summer. Kulbir's work shimmers with atmosphere. Her innate understanding of colour is applied in smudged strokes forming reimagined landscapes, where glimpses of remembered views, winding paths and lone trees dwell. Graduating from Camberwell and practising as an art educator in London, Kulbir is now based in Bridport, and the move to the West Country has allowed her to revisit painting alongside new themes. We are thrilled to be working with this gifted artist.

Becky Blair

A simmering collection of paintings. Becky's work is a masterclass in the art of composition and colour, and the addition of hand-sewn embroidery applied to her bold canvases creates a dynamic play across the surface of the paintings. Enchanting, playful and using a mysterious language of her own, Becky's unique imagery continues to delight.

Rosie MacCurrach

Delicate, decorative and mesmerising charcoal drawings. Drawn from life, Rosie is committed to capturing the vibrations of nature in her deeply detailed work. Set across multiple sheets of paper and reassembled in her Hampshire studio, these are beautiful interpretations of the precious natural world we share.

Hannah Rollings

Hannah has a background in illustration and teaching, and now paints full time from her late grandmother's farm in Hampshire. Inspired by nature, she paints en plein air, turning up the volume of colour and vibrancy to maximum. Hannah's paintings are not shy. They are bold interpretations of the natural world and sit front and centre. Colourful creations to add to your collection which will demand attention.

Catherine Cazalet

Catherine's dreamlike tree-scapes abounded in the gallery this summer. A beautiful collection of delicate, decorative paintings, hovering between imagined landscape, 1920s design, flat pattern and rich colour. A vibrant and remarkable collection of gouache and watercolour pencil plus oil on linen.

Lizbeth Holstein

Two beautiful and very different paintings by this Spanish based artist. Lizbeth's work reflects her love of place and the people within it. A magpie for visual inspiration, it might be walks along the Costa Brava, visitors to her studio, or old photographic albums picked up in a local market that provoke the spark for a new painting.

Emma Lawrenson

New silkscreen and pencil works onto vintage book covers by this Yorkshire based artist. Perfect as pairs, in a bedroom, resting on a shelf or to bookmark a special spot, these delightful perfectly composed pieces are real little treasures.
